BRIDGES Afterschool Program

The BRIDGES Afterschool Program provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where students receive academic assistance and meaningful enrichment opportunities. The program operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and offers tutoring and homework support in core subject areas such as math, reading, science, and other academic disciplines. In addition, students participate in sports and recreational activities, receive computer instruction, and engage in a wide range of educational enrichment experiences.

The mission of BRIDGES is to encourage and motivate students to achieve strong academic outcomes while fostering cultural awareness, positive interpersonal relationships, and essential social skills. Through a balanced approach to learning and engagement, the program supports students’ overall growth and development.

BRIDGES enhances its programming through partnerships that expand students’ exposure to creative, technical, and service-learning opportunities. Participants engage in activities such as theater arts, visual arts, radio and podcasting, group counseling, and robotics. Through collaboration with Community Forge of Wilkinsburg, students are introduced to the BootUp program, where they explore graphic design, computer coding, and responsible use of social media. Additional partnerships provide ongoing visual arts instruction and service-learning experiences that encourage civic engagement and leadership.

The program remains committed to supporting the whole student—academically, socially, physically, and emotionally—while also serving as a reliable resource for families seeking high-quality afterschool care. To further support student well-being, BRIDGES partners with community organizations to provide nutritious hot dinners and snacks for all program participants.

BRIDGES rates are $180.00/week, and subsidies are accepted. REGISTER TODAY
