10TheBRIDGESAfter-SchoolProgramBRIDGESisofferedbetween230pmand600pmeverydayschoolisinsession.Theprogramprovidedasafeandnurturingenvironmentfor52studentsin2010whileofferingtutoringandhomeworkassistanceinmathreadingscienceandotheracademicareas.Studentsalsoreceivedcomputereducationparticipatedinrecreationaltrips.ThegoalofBRIDGESistoteachstudentstostrivetohighacademicachievementdevelopculturalawarenessandlearnpersonalandsocialskills.Toaccommodatefamiliestransportationtotheprogramwasprovidedformanyofthestudentsaswellasasnackandahotnutritiousdinner.Homeworkassistancewasanessentialactivityoftheprogram.Inadditionstudentsreceivedoneononetutoringaminimumoffourdaysperweek.Ofthestudentswhosegradeswerereceived66madeHighHonororHonorRoll.toexposethestudentstooutsideattractionsandactivities.Duringthe2010schoolyeartripsincludedtheCircusMini-GolfIce-SkatingOverlysCountryChristmasSesameStreetLiveSnowTubingandDisneyonIce.Recreationaltimeincludedphysicalsportssuchaskickballsoftballbasketballrelayracesetc.AlsoPennStateNutritionLinksparticipatedfor8weeksandtaughtthestudentshealthyeatinghabitsandassistedthestudentsinthepreparationofhealthysnacks.Theinclusionoffamilywasimportantandthatpurpose.FirstwasaFamilyFunNightCarnivalandattheconclusionoftheschoolyearweheldanEndofSchoolCelebrationdinnerforstudentsandtheirfamilies.activitiesandenjoyedavarietyofeldMonthlyeldtripswerealsoincorporatedintotheprogramtwoeventswerespecicallydesignedforMountAraratCommunityActivityCenter2010AnnualReportBRIDGESAfter-SchoolProgram
